geex.play.rmxp

Description

Starting Geex Play project linked with Rpg Maker Xp.

Install

  1. Install Visual Studio Express 2013 for Desktop. http://www.microsoft.com/fr-fr/download/details.aspx?id=40787

  2. Install Xna for Visual Studio Express 2013. https://msxna.codeplex.com/releases

  3. Download (or buy) the last Rpg Maker Xp version. http://www.rpgmakerweb.com/download

  4. Clone repository.

  5. Open solution and right click on Geex.Play.RmXp project. Go to Properties, and select "Build events" tab to change the path to Geex.Transpose.exe.

Getting started

Press F5 to launch the game

Edit your project

  1. You can edit your Rpg Maker Xp project, in the Rm directory, like you are used to. Save your changes.

  2. Then get back to Visual Studio, press F6 to compile and automatically convert Rpg Maker Xp data. Press then F5 to launch the game.

Linking new content files into the game

  1. Add files in Rm folder, at the right place.

  2. Unscroll the Content project (Geex.Play.RmXpContent). Right click on the folder/Add.../Existing element

  3. Select your elements by one left click, then use the small arrow new the "Add" button/Add as a link

Add a new map

  1. Create your map un Rpg Maker Xp. Save your project.

  2. Compile the Visual Studio solution with F6. This will generate the Geex version of your map.

  3. Link the new .map file from your Rpg Maker Xp Data folder, as explained above.

Scripting, modifying gameplay

Just edit or create new source files in Visual studio :D
