Firarperest is a Windows 10 Universal Windows Platform Application to showcase my Photo Portfolio. I love photography and I compile photos on my personal blog whenever I visit new places. All photos are hosted on http://ikivanc.tumblr.com .Using UWP template I would like to add new features such as stylish User Interface, data visulisation on map, places visited by country, photo gallery and so on.
In this sample project, you will be able understand how you can use Universal Windows Platform features on different Windows Devices families including Desktop, Tablet, Phone and Hololens. Project uses the sample data files that are part of the project in Tumblr10.cs file.
- You must have Visual Studio 2015.
- You must have Visual Studio 2015 and the Windows Software Development Kit (SDK) for Windows 10 (10.0.10560.0) installed. https://dev.windows.com/en-us/downloads/windows-10-sdk
In PageOnMap.xaml in the Firarperest View folder update "MapServiceToken" with your API key from https://www.bingmapsportal.com/
- If you download the samples ZIP, be sure to unzip the entire archive, not just the folder with the sample you want to build.
- Start Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 and select File > Open > Project/Solution.
- Starting in the folder where you unzipped the samples, go to the Samples subfolder, then the subfolder for this specific sample, then the subfolder for your preferred language (C++ or C#). Double-click the Visual Studio 2015 Solution (.sln) file.
- Press Ctrl+Shift+B, or select Build > Build Solution.
The next steps depend on whether you just want to deploy the sample or you want to both deploy and run it.
- Select Build > Deploy Solution.
- To debug the sample and then run it, press F5 or select Debug > Start Debugging. To run the sample without debugging, press Ctrl+F5 or select Debug > Start Without Debugging.
Firarperest app runs on Desktop.
Firarperest app runs on Tablet simulator if you don't have a touch based device.
Firarperest app runs on Hololens Emulator as 2D application. Since we don't have the device we can test hololens with Hololens Emulator.
Firarperest app runs on Windows Phone Emulator, if you don't have a windows phone you can test on it.
