The Alert Watch and Response Engine (AWARE) is an automated tool that enables clinicians, supervisors, and administrations to monitor and track responses to alerts in CPRS. It consists of three components: (1) an alert monitor (2) an actions tracking feature; and (3) a web-based alert reporting engine.

AWARE will

• Track critical alerts and monitor follow-up action
• Identify critical lab and imaging test result alerts that lack timely follow-up

• CPRS with AWARE Extension - AWARE Follow-up actions during Patient Close-out event.
• Alert Cache Viewer - Intersystems CSP application to view VistA Alert Cache file
• SQL Transporter - C# console application to copy VistA Alert Cache file to MSSQL database
• QI Manager - ASPX applications to view SSRS AWARE reports
• Knowledge Based Editor - Intersystems CSP application to define types of Critical Alerts to be monitored
