OpenIDE OpenIDE EditorEngine is an open source project maintained by the ContinuousTests team www.continuoustests.com. The purpose of this tool is to provide a basic set of IDE type features around you favorite editor like type search, project file management and more. As the project is in it's early stages but should run on Linux, MacOSX and windows. Although it has only been tested on Linux and Windows yet. It currently supports type search and basic project management. To connect to the editors OpenIDENet uses EditorEngine, another open source project maintained by ContinuousTests. Builds and tests are handled by AutoTest.Net or ContinuousTests which are also maintained by ContinuousTests. Getting started Intro: http://www.continuoustests.com/OpenIDENet-intro.ogv To deploy use deploy.sh/deploy.bat depending on the platform you are on. After deployment the binaries end up in your ReleaseBinaries folder. First thing to note is the oi and environment.rb files. oi is a shortcut for using oi.exe. What we usually do is to add our oi folder to PATH so we can use the oi script from any location. The environment.rb script will be what starts up with oi. In there you can choose to start either ContinuousTests or AutoTest.Net for handling automatic builds and test runs. Below you will read about commands using templates. Templates are any executable file or script that conforms to a set of rules like what they write to the console or what arguments they support. To add a new command for commands supporting templates just drop an executable script in there where the name of the script will become the command. To start navigate to the source folder you want to work with and execute the following command (replace vim with any editor supported by EditorEngine): oi editor vim Now inside gvim it has hooked F8 to deal with keys: <F8>-t => Opens type search map <C-S-t> :nbkey t<cr> imap <C-S-t> <Esc>:nbkey t<cr> <F8>-j => Opens AutoTest.Net\ContinuousTests map <C-S-j> :nbkey j<cr> imap <C-S-j> <Esc>:nbkey j<cr> There are also several commands for handling projects. These can be executed without first hooking up to the editor through "oi editor vim". Create (uses any template under templates/default/) Create a c# project at the specified location oi create library SomeProject/SomeProject.csproj Add existing file oi addfile SomeProject/NotYetAddedFile.cs Remove file from project oi removefile SomeProject/SomeFile.cs Delete file and remove from project oi deletefile SomeProject/SomeFile.cs New (uses any template under templates/{type}/new) oi new interface SomeProject/IANewClass oi new class SomeProject/ANewClass oi new fixture SomeProject/ANewClassTests Reference\Dereference adds or removes project and assembly references to and from projects oi reference lib/NUnit/nunit.framework.dll SomeProject/SomeProject.csproj oi dereference lib/NUnit/nunit.framework.dll SomeProject/SomeProject.csproj
